Member transactions are recorded on the Activities tab of the member record.
It is possible to refund certain payments made by card by clicking the refund button next to the transaction. This is a financial transaction reversal, and it is your responsibility to determine if other steps (such as membership cancellation etc.) need to be taken. Quoox cannot make these decisions for you.
Direct Debit refunds are not available via Quoox. This functionality is disabled by default in GoCardless. It is only available upon application, and is a more complex process than most people realise. This is because of the complex DD payment cycle, and the risks associated with a payment reversal.
The small print
Stripe, like all merchant service providers, have small print clauses. If your ratio of payments-to-refunds is too high (and the bar is low), then you will be penalised with delayed payouts and potentially greater fees. These charges and ratios are levied by VISA, Mastercard and AMEX, and the merchant is obligated to pass them on.
We recommend that facilities refund transactions by direct bank transfer, outside of Stripe and GoCardless. This method means that your obligation to the member is met, but you do not jeopardise your chargeback ratio with Stripe or GoCardless.
