Hi guys, welcome to Quoox University.
Throughout this course, I’m gonna be talking about our frequently asked questions and hopefully helping you with any that might arise.
So, in this video, I’m gonna focus on nurture sequences, something that a lot of you like to use, but there are some questions around whether you can add or amend running nurture sequences. So let’s talk through this scenario.
First, we’re gonna go to my.quoox.com and we’re gonna log into our main dashboard. What I wanna show you is essentially a nurture sequence that’s already been created and has run for existing members. So we’re gonna go to the menu on the left-hand side, we’re gonna click connect and promote, and we’re gonna go into nurture.
Now, you’ll see here, I’ve got a list of existing programs. If you’d like to know how to create a program, please go back into watching the nurture programs video for the sake of this video, we’re gonna talk through how to amend it and if that’s possible.
So, let’s say for example, we’re gonna go into the initial 30 day member nurturing program. Now, what we can see is that we’ve set up all 27 content items, nurturing type, everything we want in this nurturing program has been set and created.
Where we’ve set the days and times that relates to, if you add someone today, day one is today and their first message will go out at 8:00 PM. So, the frequently asked question that we have is, “Can I now add an element if I’ve already got members receiving this nurture program?” The answer technically is yes, but if you add a nurturing element now, to go on today, 28, the members that are already receiving this nurture program will not get the 28th day because it’s been completed and set up and already in motion.
If you create a new nurturing element and you add day 28, for example, anyone new that you add to the nurture program, so maybe a new member or existing members that haven’t received it before, will receive the new nurturing element you’ve added today.
There’s two work arounds, but the main reason that we’ve done this is because if you add a new nurturing element months later, okay, and you’ve got 21 members that have already received this 27 day nurture program, let’s say you sent them those messages and all 27 nurture content pieces two months ago and then today you’ve decided to add a 28th element to send to new members. If you are able to just add a new element every time without it having to be reassigned, that member that’s received this nurture program two months ago will now randomly receive day 28. So, it won’t make sense to that member and it probably won’t look great that they’ve just received a random message at the end of a nurture program they’ve already received.
So, the workaround is that you could remove the members and then re-add them, but the note to remember there is that if you re-add them, they start from day one again. If they’re already on day 20, they’re then gonna receive day one to 20 again, to then get day 28.
The alternative option is if it’s one or two pieces of information that you want to add on, you could then go and create a new nurture program. And you can do that by watching my nurture program video, creating a nurture program and then add that new sequence to the group of existing members that are on the 30 day member nurturing program you’ve already created.
So, in short to recap, if you want to add part of a sequence, or if you want to add a new element to a sequence that you’ve already created and has been completed and, or is in the process of being completed, it will not affect members that are currently enrolled. It will only come into effect for new members enrolled.
If you feel that you need to have this nurturing element added to the current sequence, and you want it to go to the members that are currently enrolled, I would use one of the workarounds to do so, or send it manually to the members.
Alternatively, you can remove them from the nurturing program and then re-enroll them. But remember to note that they will receive everything from day one again, if they’re only on day one, probably not so bad, if they’re on day 20, probably not ideal. And then you’ve got 27 days to wait to get the last of the sequence.
Hopefully that makes sense. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch by the support page, support.quoox.com and raise a ticket. Otherwise, I’ll see you on the next video. Thanks!
