At Quoox we have long believed that all modern fitness facilities should provide a fusion of in-person and online training to their customers. The recent impact of Coronavirus on the well-being industry has heightened this necessity.
This major update to Quoox provides, at its core, a wealth of valuable new online training functionality to our customers. This release (code name “Project Blackwell”) was in development prior to the current Coronavirus outbreak, but its timetable has been accelerated to attempt to provide additional opportunities and support to our customers during this difficult period.
XRcize is the name for Quoox’s new online training functionality. This supersedes the previous home workout functionality, vastly extending the deliverable to members and enhancing revenue opportunities.
We have developed XRcize to work in a way that even the most popular online training solutions cannot presently. Two of the most important distinguishing features are i) the cohesion between a member’s online and in-person training regimes, and ii) the capability to deliver multi-ability home/online workouts in a realistic and scaleable manner. Furthermore, our automated accountability & support reach-outs ensure that your online training programs continue to operate, even if your facility is temporarily closed.
In summary, XRcize provides:
- Full online training, with in-built support multiple ability levels – complementing your in-person training programs.
Set recommended training levels for members, which they may override (E.g. if they’re injured).
- Custom and shared (via ALLOY) exercise libraries. Upload your own exercise videos, or import for your YouTube or Vimeo accounts.
- Optionally add custom introduction videos for each program and workout session.
- Create full online training programs, and sell them via the Quoox campaign functionality – with payments and setup being automatically handled by Quoox.
- Optionally include in-person sessions/credits in your online training packages, encouraging attendance and potential extra revenue.
- Issue ad hoc training sessions to members, with greatly enhanced functionality/options.
Optionally, set sessions to “auto revoke”, so that they are only available to members for a given period of time.
- Track member activity and performance in the XRcize Hub, with enhanced Insight metrics in the member summary.
- Automatically schedule and send workout accountability & support messages, ensuring continued contact with your online training members.
- Track member responses; BodyHop submissions; and member photo uploads, along with session views; commencements; and completions.
- Auto or manually commend program completion with the issuance of a Certificate of Achievement.
It is now possible for a member to have multiple concurrent memberships. This is perfect for if you sell different types of membership package to your customers (E.g. personal training; well-being; etc.)
This release of Quoox also provides the ability to change membership fees and some options for running memberships, and to change the start date of memberships that haven’t yet commenced.
Options have been introduced to pause memberships for 1, 2 or 3 months. These options may be run multiple times, if longer delays are required.
Pausing a membership will:
- Add the given period of months to the next membership payment due date
- Add the given period of months to the next credit issue date
Sell Memberships via Quoox Campaigns
Quoox’s Campaign functionality has been greatly extended to provide an avenue for selling memberships directly via campaigns.
Whilst still offering the lead generation functions, prospects who wish to sign up for a membership directly may do so. Their joining and first period payment will be taken; their membership account created; and their credits issued. New sign-ups can be tracked via the XRcize hub.
A single campaign may offer one or more memberships (with one or more payment plans) to prospects. During the sign-up process, the purchaser can select their preferred options from those you choose to present to them. If you only offer one membership option and only one payment plan, Quoox will automatically skip the extraneous selection steps – making it quick & easy for the purchaser.
Chargeable Marketing Appointments
We are aware that some of our customers charge for trial sessions. As a result we have extended the Campaign lead generation functionality so that marketing appointments may now optionally be assigned a price.
Leads signing up to chargeable marketing/trial appointments will have payment taken via credit/debit card during the sign-up process.
Custom Campaign Questions
A new tab on the campaign setup screen is included for both lead generation and membership sale campaigns.
This new tab provides the functionality for facilities to add custom questions to the campaign sign-up process. These questions may be mandatory or optional.
Sign-up question responses are turned into a PDF document stored against the lead record. These are automatically migrated to the member record when the lead is converted.
For some time Quoox has provided the ability to record ranked achievements against members.
An extension to the achievement functionality now provides a method for recording and ranking non-numeric accomplishments, such as belts; medals etc. To achieve this setup achievement ranges, and tell Quoox how the achievements rank. For example, “7th kyu” is more advanced than “8th kyu” etc.
Graded achievements are visible in the Quoox mobile app version 1.5.0 and above.
GPS Clock-in Enhancements
Facilities now have the ability to tailor some of the GPS clock-in parameters for their facilities, such as the acceptable distance from the facility for permitted clock-in.
Additionally, on a per employee basis, the GPS clock-in location check can be disabled. This only applies in version 1.5.0 of the mobile app, or above.
New System Groups
Several new system groups have been added in this release. These are available both for group operations (e.g. messaging), and as filters in the member listing.
- Training Members
Those members who have active in-person training memberships
- XRcize Members
Those members who have active online training memberships
- PAYG Members
Those members who do not have a membership, and who pay on a pay-as-you-go basis
- Overdue Memberships
Those members who have overdue membership payments
PAYG members are now clearly highlighted as such in the member listing.
Sometimes it is necessary to change session schedules but, by design, this doesn’t automatically add missing sessions for the period already handled by Quoox in the overnight session creation process.
Within the session schedule listing there is now a new action option for “Re-propagate”. Clicking this button will re-process the period for which you pre-release sessions and will create any missing sessions that match the schedule. It will, by design, not make any changes to existing sessions.
Video in Campaign Landing Pages
With the advent of this release, it is now simple to add video into your campaign landing pages – with the ability to add videos from either YouTube or Vimeo.
Two new inline tags have been added, [[YOUTUBE xxx]] and [[VIMEO xxx]].
Simply replace the xxx element with the ID of your video, and Quoox will generate the full embed tag for your chosen provider.
Extended markup for both tags [[YOUTUBE xxx yyy zzz]] and [[VIMEO xxx yyy zzz]] enables the specification of width and height attributes for the embedded frames. Absolute pixel values and percentage values are both supported. If omitted, the default YouTube/Vimeo frame sizes will be employed.
Monthly “Anniversary” Memberships
Until now, for monthly membership renewals, the renewal would always be on a fixed date (E.g. 1st). This was to provide consistency to members and address issues of memberships being created on 30th, and confusion occurring in February etc.
Following customer feedback we determined that there was, in fact, little concern over slight deviations on payment date (as this may happen naturally due to bank payment cycles). We have therefore introduced a new “anniversary” payment option for monthly memberships, whereby the membership renewal date will be roughly the same day every month. So, a membership started on 5th will always be billed on 5th. A membership started on 29th would typically be charged on 29th, but might be charged on 28th or 1st around about February time. The calculation of the preferred day is done using standard ISO rules.
In App Credit Count
PAYG members will now see a simple count of their presently available credits in the Quoox app. This applies from version 1.5.0 and above.
A few minor changes that are noteworthy:
- Member groups have now been moved into the details tab of the member record. This was done to provide space for the member Insights which are now displayed prominently on the member summary tab.
- To provide the space necessary to add the new XRcize tab to the member record, the names of the tabs on the member record have been shortened. By hovering over a tab, the original title is still visible. This also provides extra space for additional forthcoming member functionality.
- Home workouts have now been retired. For an interim period they remain available from the “XRcize Sessions” screen, and are accessed from the button found in the top-right of the page.
Mobile App Update
Following release of the updated portal functionality, the Quoox Mobile app will be submitted to both Google Play and App Store for approval and release. This process typically takes a few days, but it is unknown what the present impact of Coronavirus will have on these timescales.
Members who have app updates turned on will automatically receive the update when released, and this will enable them to access the new XRcize functionality within My Fitfile.
