Quoox records engagement statistics for a period of time, for emails sent from the Quoox system. This includes the message centre; nurturing emails; campaign reach-outs, XRcize reach-outs; scheduled broadcasts and more, but does not include system messages (such as welcome emails; booking confirmations; booking reminders etc.)
Viewing email engagement metrics
Email engagement metrics may be viewed in several places within Quoox. It should be noted that the context of the statistics does vary, and the metrics displayed are explained below.
Message Centre (sent items)
When you open and view any outbound email in the Message Centre, you will see engagement statistics.
The statistics provided indicate:
- – The number unique deliveries confirmed
- – The number unique opens (I.e. one person opening the email three times only counts as one unique open)
- – The total number of clicks
The period over which the statistics have been gathered are also displayed (E.g. Last 90 days)
Scheduled Broadcasts (sent items)
When you open and view any completed scheduled broadcast, you will see engagement statistics.
The statistics provided indicate:
- – The number unique deliveries confirmed
- – The number unique opens (I.e. one person opening the email three times only counts as one unique open)
- – The total number of clicks
The period over which the statistics have been gathered are also displayed (E.g. Last 90 days)
Lead campaign reach-outs
Within the “Reach-outs” section of the Reach-outs & Nurturing tab of a lead record, you will see engagement statistics.
The statistics provided indicate:
- – The total number of opens (I.e. one person opening the email three times only counts as one unique open)
- – The total number of clicks
The period over which the statistics have been gathered are also displayed (E.g. Last 90 days)
Member and Lead Messages
Within both a member and lead record, on the respective Messages tab, you can access a popup log of recent email engagements by clicking the button.
By default, opens and clicks are displayed. Clicking the delivered checkbox will also include confirmed deliveries.
The period for which the log spans is displayed (E.g. 90 days)
For each confirmed event, the following is displayed:
- The date/time of the recorded event
- The type of event (E.g. Delivered; Open; Click)
- The originating type of message
- The subject line of the message
- If the event type was a click, the following additional information is displayed:
- The IP address of the user at the time they clicked the link (hover cursor over the IP icon)
- The URL of the link that the user clicked within the email
Understanding email engagement metrics
Quoox’s email engagement metrics comply with the current industry accepted methods but, as with any application reporting such stats they are not 100% fool proof.
Deliveries
A delivery is confirmed when the recipients email server (E.g. Gmail) confirms that it has taken receipt of the email.
This confirms that the email has reached the recipients in-box, but not necessarily the recipient themselves. For example, if they have email or junk rules setup, this may route the message elsewhere in their in-box.
Opens
Tracking an “open” is not an absolute science. These days, many email packages “preview” a message and this often triggers an “open”. There is no way to distinguish between a person reading a message, and their email software “previewing” the message. This is why in tools such as MailChimp and Infusionsoft, you often get “opens” almost immediately that you send an email.
If a person has multiple devices (E.g. a smart phone; a tablet; desktop email), each of these may trigger an open. So, upon sending you might almost immediately get 3x “opens”.
Conversely, some anti-virus/anti-malware/anti-tracking software may prevent an open from being logged. So, in this scenario someone may have viewed an email, but it’s not recorded in the tracking statistics.
Clicks
A click is a fairly reliable event, and Quoox attempts to record the IP address of the user (at the time of clicking), plus the link they clicked.
Click data may be erroneous if i) anti-virus/anti-malware software follows a link to check it for safety, as this may trigger a false click impression; and ii) if anti-tracking software is used to prevent a click from being logged. Quoox’s click tracking method typically avoids the second scenario.
